Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy original owner Charlie Finlay-Jones.
About the Clinic
Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy began operating on July 1st, 2007 and was officially opened by Dr Gerry Mah on 9th November the same year. Owned and operated by Charlie Finlay-Jones, the practice had previously been housed at The Hunter Valley Private Hospital in Shortland for 12 years under the name of Shortland Physiotherapy & Hydrotherapy. As both the hospital and practice grew, it became apparent that new premises were required. Ground was broken for the new premises in 2005 and we conducted ourselves from both sites for the next two years. Five years passed and the practice has grown again to incorporate a full commercial quality gym to compliment, what we believe to be, the best hydrotherapy facility in the Hunter Region.
Early 2024, we were very excited to announce that our senior physiotherapist Sarah Colston became the new owner of Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy. Sarah Colston had been a vital part of Newcastle Aquatic for 12 years, and is committed to the core of collaborative, client-first care that Charlie Finlay-Jones established from opening his own practice in 1994. Sarah is also committed to making relevant changes to help continue to grow and evolve Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy to support current and future clients.
We provide physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to a wide range of clients including post surgery orthopaedics (joint replacement), back injuries, stroke, MS, muscular dystrophy, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, chronic pain management and rehabilitation.
