Home Workout (No equipment needed!)

aquaticphysio

Our physiotherapist Chloe is back with a third follow-along home workout in the lockdown series. If you missed the earlier home workouts, check out number 1 here and number 2 here.

Today's workout requires no equipment - but if you have weights (or even water bottles or cans) you can add them in to the upper body circuit below. There is the option to do these exercises seated or standing, so a chair is a great idea to use for seated options, to take a rest or even to use to assist with balance. These exercises can be done with minimal space, but generally I would recommend making sure you are wearing sturdy shoes or barefoot and avoid mats or rugs to reduce trip hazards.

The workout today is broken down into 4 videos: warm up, circuit 1, circuit 2 and cool down ~about 30 minutes total including rests. It is simple, easy to follow-along and takes a small amount of time out of the day.

To make sure our group can hear the instructions, we have opted to leave out music for this session. If you would like to do the workout with some music, put some of your favourite music on in the background while following along with our class. If you’d like some music for our next video feel free to let us know and we can put on a mix for our next session.

Our big reminder for every video is to go at your own pace! If you have any current or previous injuries and/or it is your first time starting exercises please check with your GP or health professional before beginning. If you experience any pain during the exercises, have a break or cease the workout. If any pain or discomfort persists please get in touch via email or call us to let us know so a physiotherapist can help you.

Please note: you may spot or hear a few animals wandering around, the joys of working from home! If your pets are anything like mine (and you will see what I mean in the videos) I would recommend keeping them in another room to make sure they don't get under your feet or cause a trip hazard.
