Can you tell us a little about your background and what brought you to our clinic?
I've worked in people centric roles, mostly within the health industry, for my entire working life. Being in a role focused on supporting people and making a positive impact on others is both fulfilling and rewarding. Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy is a close-knit, community orientated team and is an inclusive and safe environment. I align with NAP's mission and values.
What specific role will you be taking on at our clinic, and what are you most excited about in this new position?
Michelle is taking some well-deserved Long Service Leave, and I will be stepping in as the Practice Manager. I'm looking forward to supporting a fantastic team and helping make each team member's workday easier and more enjoyable.
Can you describe a memorable experience or success story from your previous work that has stayed with you?
I'm a makeup artist on the side now, but I used to be much more active in that industry. Donating time to a group of people who would not have been able to experience a professional makeup service for their year 10 formal, due to a range of circumstances, was a hugely meaningful. The smiles made every second worth it and it's a day that I will always remember.
What do you believe sets our clinic apart from others in the area?
The team culture, the inclusive environment and the variety of services available, especially the onsite hydrotherapy pool, set NAP apart from other clinics.
What are some of your interests or hobbies outside of work?
I like to read, go to the beach and spend time with my family and friends.
How do you approach patient care to ensure the best outcomes for our clients?
Listening to our client's and asking clarifying questions is really important to ensure the client is getting the appropriate care. Fostering a welcoming and safe environment for our clients to visit is essential. Many of our clients are experiencing pain or an in vulnerable situations and need to be able to receive care and support without fear of judgment and exclusion.
Is there anything else you'd like our clients to know about you?
I'm looking forward to meeting each and every one of you.
